The story so far
What we know about About Fishing
About Fishing is a fishing mystery game from The Water Museum, the project of developer Kevin, who previously made Arctic Eggs. Playstack publishes it for PC and PS5. It was announced on 4 December 2025 and is described as a game that blends the calm, meditative rhythm of fishing with the quiet tension of discovery. The creator has said it is made out of love for Shenmue and SEGA Bass Fishing.
Players cast their line, learn the distinct patterns of each catch, trade fish and upgrade their gear to reach new depths. The fish they catch act as guides to fragments of a long-forgotten mystery. The world follows time and weather, and the townspeople keep their own daily routines. The Steam page carries content warnings for fish blood and guts and murder. Artist Angel Perez and composer Cameron Ginex are credited on the team.
The Steam page lists a 2026 release, and no exact date is public yet. A free demo is available on Steam, and a gameplay trailer arrived in March 2026.
