Blighted

Blighted is an action RPG from Drinkbox Studios, the Canadian team behind Guacamelee!, Severed and Nobody Saves the World. It was unveiled at Summer Game Fest in June 2025 and is described as the studio's largest and most ambitious game to date. The Steam page calls it a Metroidvania and sets it in a psychedelic Western nightmare, where a lone survivor fights to recover the lost memories of their people from Sorcisto, the entity that destroyed their village and unleashed a deadly infection called the Blight.

Combat is built around precise timing, combos and finishers. The Blight works as a dynamic difficulty system: defeating enemies powers the player up while altering encounters and the environment. Bosses are corrupted creatures whose memories the player absorbs to gain new abilities, and the world is interconnected with secrets to find. It can be played solo or in local and online co-op, and Jim Guthrie composes the score.

Blighted was given a Fall 2026 window in March 2026 for Switch 2 and PC, but in September 2026 Drinkbox said it needs more time to polish and tune the game and moved it to 2027. No exact date has been announced.
