Danganronpa 2x2

Danganronpa 2x2 is a remake of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, published by Spike Chunsoft and, according to the Steam page as reported by RPG Site, developed by Gemdrops. It was announced on 12 September 2025 as a high-speed deductive action game: players investigate crime scenes, gather evidence and take part in Class Trials, refuting classmates' arguments to expose the murderer among a group of trapped high schoolers.

The game contains two scenarios that are playable from the start. Original mode retells the 2012 story with updated visuals and production for modern systems. Slayhem mode is a new scenario with the same setting and cast, where a certain incident triggers a completely different chain of events, with different victims, culprits and tricks. Spike Chunsoft says the new scenario matches the original in volume. Siliconera reports that Split Opinion, a mechanic from Danganronpa V3, returns alongside a new mechanic called Akimbo Consensus, and that a new mysterious character appears in Slayhem mode.

Danganronpa 2x2 releases on 14 January 2027 for Switch 2, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The date was moved from the original 2026 window, a delay announced at Anime Expo in July 2026. An introduction trailer featuring Slayhem mode arrived on 9 September 2026. Pre-orders are open for the standard edition and for the Psycho Tropical Vacation Package, a limited edition, and English audio and text are confirmed.
