What we know about Last Moon
Last Moon is a 2D pixel-art action RPG developed by Sköll Studio, a small team from Metz, France, which publishes it together with Justdan International. It was announced in May 2024 and is built as a homage to 90s classics. The developer has cited Secret of Mana, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger as inspirations. Players take the role of a Lunar Knight crossing a ruined world, where a corrupted Moon threatens the giant If and tainted creatures stand in the way.
The Steam page lists single-player and local co-op, eight weapon types, more than 30 runes, ten summoning spells and up to 70 learnable skills. The hand-crafted, interconnected world has a day and night cycle and more than 50 monsters and bosses, and rescuing NPCs rebuilds a village. Steam tags include Metroidvania, Souls-like and open world. A demo is available on Steam.
No release date has been announced. The Steam page still reads Coming soon. In a Steam discussion, the developer said the goal is still to finish the game in 2026 but declined to name a window, and said an updated demo is planned closer to launch.
