Mega Man: Dual Override is a side-scrolling action platformer developed and published by Capcom. It was announced at The Game Awards 2025 in December and is described as the twelfth mainline entry in the series and the first since Mega Man 11 in 2018. The 2027 launch coincides with the franchise's 40th anniversary.
As the title suggests, the game has two playable characters. Mega Man relies on ranged firepower, while Proto Man, shown in gameplay during a Nintendo Direct on 9 September 2026, focuses on close-quarters combat with a shield and a heat gauge. Capcom also lists an Override system that unleashes overwhelming power for a limited time, and Custom Chips for modifying abilities. Capcom's story summary says robots are running rampant at a Robot exhibition in Dr. Light's absence. Twinkle Girl is the first Robot Master revealed, and a fan design contest produced another boss.
