The story so far
What we know about Turok: Origins
Turok: Origins is a reboot of the Turok series, developed and published by Saber Interactive. It was announced on 12 December 2024 as a dinosaur shooter that can be played solo or in online co-op. Rather than following the original hero, players take on the role of a member of the Order of the Turok, guardians tasked with protecting the planet Xenia from hostile alien dinosaurs.
Combat mixes first-person and third-person action, and players can switch between the two views. Defeated enemies yield DNA that is used to upgrade weapons and abilities, and the arsenal listed so far includes plasma rifles, sniper weapons, bows, shotguns and experimental alien tech. Game Informer's preview describes a roster of roughly a dozen playable characters with different weapons and class abilities, fatality animations on weakened enemies, and a single-player campaign with named characters. The developer has said it is not a live-service game, although levels carry incentives for replaying.
The release window was Fall 2026 until a story trailer at the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live pushed it back to Spring 2027. No exact date has been given. The game is announced for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, and is available to wishlist on Steam.
