What we know about Chronoscript: The Endless End
Chronoscript: The Endless End is an exploration-based action-adventure developed by DeskWorks and published by Shueisha Games. You play an editor who travels to a manor deep in the mountains for a new assignment and wakes up inside a manuscript, a story that keeps writing itself beyond its end, penned by a writer who has lived for a thousand years.
The game is split between two worlds: the cluttered, manuscript-strewn manor, rendered in 3D, and the pen-and-ink illustrated manuscript pages, rendered in 2D with frame-by-frame animation. The Steam page describes hard-hitting action inspired by classic 2D platformers, with new abilities and growth earned through exploration and combat. Character design is by Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta, Okami) and the score is by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles).
It was revealed in September 2025 for PS5 and PC. In September 2026 the release was pushed from fall 2026 to early summer 2027, with the director saying the main game is already playable from start to finish and that the extra time goes into refining combat responsiveness and readability. A free PC demo has been available on Steam since 20 August 2026.
