Surviving Deponia is a story-driven survival game set in the world of the Deponia point-and-click adventures. It is published by Daedalic Entertainment and developed together with AtomicTorch Studio. The game takes place seven years after the earlier games: Elysium, the floating high-society citadel, has crashed onto the surface of the trash planet, and Deponia has turned into a harsher, water-starved place with new threats.
Instead of puzzle-driven adventuring, players gather resources, craft, build a home base and fight monsters while looking for a way off the planet. New and returning characters are part of the story, and the Steam page describes the game as playable on its own, without knowing the earlier titles. It was announced in June 2023 with an early access plan for that year, but that timing slipped.
