What we know about At Fate's End
At Fate's End is a side-scrolling action adventure from Thunder Lotus, the studio behind Spiritfarer. Players take the role of Shan, a young heiress of the Hemlock clan who wields the God Sword Aesus. The pitch is that you fight the ones you love and your skill tree is your family tree: Shan confronts her estranged siblings in emotional duels that decide the family's fate.
Between fights the game mixes Metroidvania-style exploration with narrative puzzles and dialogue-based confrontations, and it lists multiple endings based on player choices. The art is hand-drawn 2D. Seven collectible power swords are listed on the Steam page.
The game was announced in June 2025 with a 2026 window. On 6 October 2026 Thunder Lotus moved it to 2027, saying it needs a little more love and care for a smooth release, and released a free demo on Steam together with a new gameplay trailer. No exact 2027 date has been announced.
